Colorplak ProcessRob Markoff, frame shop owner and frame magazine writer, says "Colorplak is the best thing that's happened to picture framing in the last ten years." Now consumers have a high quality choice between pasting a poster to foam core and traditional custom framing with glass. Professional dry-mountingWith the new and unique Colorplak process the print is dry-mounted to medium density fiberboard (MDF). Dry mounting is considered by framing professionals as the best way to mount prints to any substrate (ie. foam core, wood, gatorboard, etc) Acid free dry-mount tissue is placed underneath the entire surface of the print to assure total coverage. The print, tissue and MDF is then heat-pressed to activate the dry-mount tissue and produce a flat and permanent mount. UV protective filmA special laminating film is applied to the print surface and once again heat pressed. The laminating film used in the Colorplak process is rated with 80% UV protection. It has a matte surface that is more resistant to scratches than glossy laminates. The matte laminate allows you to clean it with a damp rag or household glass cleaners like Windex without any worry of damaging the surface. Many color choices availableThe Colorplak process is not complete without our trademark beveled edge and your choice of over 30 colors. (Our 12 most popular colors are made available in this website). The final result of the Colorplak process is a print that's been transformed into ready-to-hang art, built to last a lifetime, and yours only for a fraction of the cost of traditional framing.
